Commuting from Wexford to Dublin or traveling to sales meetings, on-line document access and sharing can be one way to maximise IT in your business. We have all done it, you go to give a Sales presentation at a clients only to find your laptop has wont start; your presentation is on it and the copy in the office is an old copy so getting somebody to e-mail you it wont do. If it was stored on-line you could use one of the clients PC’s to access your Office Live Workspace or Google Docs and give the presentation on the clients PC. A major disaster is a minor hiccup.
One other major advantage is collaboration with others, a document can be worked on by many people on-line without the need to e-mail multiple copies of the document to everyone. This avoids confusion over which document is current and changes can be approved before the final draft is drawn up. Office Live Workspace give the best intergration into your existing Office environment but you should also take a look at Google Docs.
Since the introduction of Office 2007 many people have had issues with compatibility with Office 2003 and older versions of Office. The issue is that Office 2007 by default saves documents in its new format, unless you tell it not to. This new format is not compatible with the older versions of Office.
To get around this issue Microsoft have produced a compatibility pack which will convert the Office 2007 files to Office 2003 format for you. So if you still have Office 2003 simply go here Microsoft Compatibility Pack and download the file. Then install it and it will do the rest.
Make sure you use the Username/Password generated for you and sent to the email address you provided. For Example:
Username: EAV-12345678
Password: abcde12345
We recommend copying and pasting your Username and Password when possible. If you are copying and pasting, make sure you do not select an extra blank space.
When typing your Username and Password, it is important to type them EXACTLY as they are written:
The username and password are case sensitive and the hyphen in the username is necessary
The password is ten characters long and all lowercase
We do not use the letter L in passwords (use the number one (1) instead)
A big ‘0′ is the number zero (0), a little ‘o’ is the lowercase letter o
If your Username or Password still does not work, it is due to one of the following reasons:
You are using the wrong Username or Password or your Username and Password are expired. Please visit the Lost License page to have your Username and Password emailed to you again.
If you recently renewed your license, you may also need to wait 12 to 24 hours before downloading new ESET security product versions or upgrading from ESET NOD32 Antivirus to ESET Smart Security.
You are attempting to download the wrong product for your license. For example, if you purchased a license for ESET NOD32 Antivirus then you cannot download ESET Smart Security. Also, make sure you are downloading the right ESET security product build for your computer
Windows 7 comes with a few handy features one of which is the System Repair Disk, which was part of Vista at testing but was removed before launch to the public, the reason behind this was never given and surely a loss. But its in Windows 7 so lets talk about it, its simple enough, you can make a System Repair Disk which can be used in the event that your system fails to boot. Just boot the system from the CD/DVD and it will give you access to tools to repair you system. You may need to adjust the boot order on your system to get it to boot from the CD/DVD ( This is specific to makes of PC/Laptop).
Watch the Video above if you already haven’t for where to find the options.
